Status: Planned (programme)Status: Pending counsel

Anyone 18 or older can enter Humanathon alone, anywhere in the world, for free. Qualifying is the application: verify your identity, connect an income baseline and file a public mandate. Then file one proof a week for the whole season.

A programme, not software

Humanathon is a programme that Merces runs, with rules and events. It is not part of the Merces software, and entering never obliges anyone to raise. Programme rules marked as planned may change before the season opens.

Who can enter

  • Individuals only. Teams cannot enter, but each member can enter alone. A co-founder enters as themselves, never as a team.
  • 18 or older.
  • Open worldwide for the season. Whether you can later raise depends on your country and on the legal opinion, so some entrants may take part in the season only.
  • One entry per verified person: 1 person per entry.
  • Free to enter, no bond. Entry costs $0. Effort is the filter.

What qualifying takes

Qualifying takes 2 weeks and has three steps, in order.

  1. Verify your identity. A personhood or identity check confirms you are one real person. The same identity receives any prize and, later, issues any Human Equity Units (HEUs).
  2. Connect a baseline. Link the income sources you had over the prior 6 months: wallets, and off-chain sources such as payment processors, freelance platforms, payroll or a bank, through attestations. A zero baseline is fine. It is a starting line, not a wealth filter.
  3. File a public mandate. It is hashed on-chain at the start of the season and frozen. It states:
    • your track;
    • what you will ship in 6 weeks;
    • an income forecast for the window, as a range. The forecast is sealed: hashed on-chain and revealed only as your accuracy score;
    • which income sources count, and how each is verified.

The weekly proof

Once the season starts, you file one weekly proof of output and income, 6 in all, and keep a public log. Proofs on time, a log kept and challenges answered are what the reliability score measures.

The two-missed-proofs rule

After 2 missed proofs, you are out of the season. The rule applies to every entrant, and the sources give no exception.

What others can and cannot see

  • Your mandate is public. Your income forecast is sealed and is never published; only your accuracy score is.
  • The leaderboard shows your scores and percentiles. It never shows your income.
  • The jury sees detail. Backers see detail only if you become a Fellow and choose to raise.

How to get notified

Season 1 opens early 2027; exact dates are announced with our lead partner. The Humanathon (not live yet) page carries a waitlist form that asks for your name, email, country, track, one public link and, if you like, what you would prove in six weeks. Nothing on that page connects a wallet.

What can go wrong

  • Income from wallets linked to you, from yourself, or from a fresh wallet buying your own work does not count. Fair play lists every exclusion.
  • Missing 2 weekly proofs ends your season.
  • Overpromising and sandbagging cost the same: forecast accuracy is penalised in both directions.
  • The season does not oblige you to raise, and raising may not be open where you live. Legal review is in progress.
  • The dates are not public yet. They are announced with the lead partner.
