Frequently asked questions

Merces is software for a capped share of future income, with parts of the implementation and the real-world launch still under review.

What is Merces?

It is the product and protocol described in What is Merces?. The issuer raises capital; a backer supplies it under agreed terms.

What is Mercery?

Mercery is the mechanism connecting issuance, evidence, payments and exits. Merces and Mercery explains the distinction.

Can I use it with real money now?

These docs establish no live network deployment. The checked baseline uses local implementations and mock providers. See known limitations.

Does nothing due mean something went wrong?

No. A valid report can produce nothing due. Reporting requirements still matter. Nothing due explains this normal outcome.

Can everyone see my income?

Raw evidence, commitments and public payment amounts have different visibility. The report verifier briefly sees the figure in memory, and payment amounts are public onchain. See the privacy data map.

What income counts?

The final agreement must define it. Counsel has not supplied that definition; the brief's examples remain product intent. See covered and excluded income.

Has there been an independent audit?

Independent audits have not started. Security review and audit status distinguishes the recorded internal review from an external audit.

Is Humanathon a requirement to raise?

Humanathon is a planned programme with optional raises for qualifying participants. Entering does not oblige anyone to raise. See What Humanathon is and its FAQ.

What can go wrong

These short answers do not replace final terms, eligibility decisions or the complete explanation of a mechanism. The linked pages state the current limits.
